KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: Aseel Al-Mazid, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department and official spokesperson for the Public Authority for Manpower, announced the establishment of a new permanent coordination committee focused on human rights and human trafficking issues. This committee, which Al-Mazid will lead, aims to address all related concerns, respond to international inquiries, and swiftly tackle any emerging problems.
In a recent press statement, Al-Mazid explained that the committee will facilitate communication and coordination between the Authority and public benefit organizations, particularly those dedicated to human rights and expatriate workers. The committee’s goal is to enhance the labor market, protect workers' rights, and ensure a conducive working environment.
As part of its efforts, the committee has launched an opinion poll on the Authority’s website. This poll is designed to gauge public awareness of human trafficking and assess knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
Al-Mazid emphasized the Authority’s commitment to organizing awareness campaigns in collaboration with the Permanent National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants. The Authority will also work with partners such as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the General Federation of Kuwait Workers. She underscored the Authority’s dedication to protecting workers from human trafficking and pursuing legal action against those involved in such crimes.
