Manila achieved a historic milestone by clinching its inaugural accolade at the esteemed World Travel Awards, being honored as the World’s Leading City Destination for 2023.
In addition to the city's acknowledgment, the Philippines retained its 2022 designations as the World’s Leading Dive Destination and Beach Destination. The World Travel Awards Ceremony occurred in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 1st.
Referred to as the travel industry's equivalent of the Oscars, the World Travel Awards, founded in 1993 and headquartered in London, is dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievements in travel and tourism on national, regional, and global scales. In February, Manila garnered distinction as the "most affectionate city in the world" according to a study conducted by the Crossword Solver website.
