KUWAIT CITY, April 2: The Philippines is close to lift temporary ban on sending sending domestic workers to Kuwait. The decision to suspend was taken without conclusive opinions and also due to parliamentary pressure on the government, has caused significant economic damage with the cessation of monthly remittances sent to workers' families, reports Al Rai. However, there are positive indications of lifting the temporary ban, with ongoing consultations between officials from Kuwait and the Philippines.

The Philippine Minister of Migrant Labor, Susan Ople, has announced a virtual meeting with approved domestic labor offices in Kuwait to discuss the lifting of the suspension on sending workers to Kuwait. The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday morning, will also cover the fate of 516 domestic workers currently in a labor shelter in Kuwait, requirements for white lists of committed offices, and the opinion of the new labor attaché in Kuwait regarding recent developments.
