KUWAIT CITY, April 25: After a video went viral showing a police officer assaulting a shop owner in Al-Qurain Markets, the officer was taken into custody after the shop owner filed a formal complaint. The video captured the officer insulting and physically assaulting the shop owner in front of the store.
According to a security source, the incident occurred while female employees from the Ministry of Commerce were inspecting the shop and discovered certain violations. As the police officer happened to pass by, he allegedly intervened and attacked the shop owner with verbal abuse and physical force, as stated in the complaint. A case has been registered, and the officer has been detained at the police station pending further investigation.
