Police receive cybercrime training to address security challenges

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The General Department of Public Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the General Department of Criminal Investigations represented by the Cybercrime Control Department, organized a training course for members of the Security Media (officers and non-commissioned officers) titled "Preparing Reports to Raise Awareness of the Risks and Types of Cybercrimes and Prevention Methods."

In a press statement issued today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Interior indicated that this course aims to enhance the skills and professional capabilities of police personnel in line with security developments.

The course was presented by Major Ammar Al-Sarraf, Acting Head of the Support Services Section in the Cybercrime Control Department. He addressed the definition of cybercrime and the laws related to combating it. Major Al-Sarraf focused during the course on offenses that violate human dignity, threats, and extortion, and breaches of personal accounts, in addition to fraud techniques, hacking, and identity theft. He also reviewed protective measures and prevention methods against these crimes.

The course aims to enhance community awareness and improve the capabilities of the personnel in the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media in delivering comprehensive and effective lectures that contribute to raising awareness of the risks of cybercrime. (KUNA)
