KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Planning and Development Sector and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, Ahmed Al-Saleh, said that the current rain fl ow came within the absorptive capacity of the rainwater drainage network.

Some low-lying areas witnessed stagnant water after heavy rain.

Al-Saleh added, in a press statement, that the Ministry of Public Works has deployed several emergency teams to deal with the severe rainy situation. He stated that with the continuation of the rains and the increase in intensity and quantities, and coinciding with the rise of the sea tide, it is expected that there will be a slowdown in the discharge of that water, causing some pools of rainwater on roads and areas.

He stressed that the Public Works Authority and all concerned teams monitor the weather and wish everyone to take caution when using the streets and roads in order to preserve their lives and property, indicating that in the event of any emergency, one can contact the Ministry’s Hotline No. 150 or via its WhatsApp 93333150 in order to deal with these gatherings.
