KUWAIT CITY, June 1: In a recent statement issued by the General Fire Force, Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Gharib, Director of Public Relations, emphasized the importance of preserving firefighting equipment for emergencies. Al-Gharib urged property and shop owners to refrain from using firefighting water hoses for non-emergency purposes, citing concerns about safety and the integrity of the equipment.
With the onset of summer and soaring temperatures, Al-Gharib expressed worry over a growing trend of individuals misusing firefighting resources. He highlighted instances where people have been observed using water from firefighting hoses to wash vehicles or clean building courtyards, actions that not only violate the law but also jeopardize the effectiveness of the equipment during fire emergencies.
Al-Gharib emphasized that such misuse could result in severe consequences, including legal penalties. He cited a recent incident involving an expatriate who was caught on camera using firefighting water to wash the street. Legal measures were promptly taken against the individual as a deterrent.
The Director of Public Relations stressed the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding firefighting resources for their intended purpose. He urged community members to report any instances of misuse and reiterated the importance of preserving these vital resources to ensure public safety.
