LONDON, Jan 28: Prince Harry is reportedly feeling isolated in the US after “verbally annihilating” his family, according to royal commentators. The Duke of Sussex, 40, is said to be struggling to establish a career for himself stateside following the release of several high-profile projects, such as his memoir Spare and his Netflix series.
“Harry is in exile — he chose it,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News. “It’s lonely, and he will undoubtedly miss his friends and family. There is no sign whatsoever of the rift in the royal family healing. King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales have, to put it mildly, other priorities.”
Fitzwilliams also suggested that Meghan Markle is the dominant force in their relationship. “I think Meghan is undoubtedly the dominant person in their relationship,” he said. “I don’t doubt he wishes they had managed to arrange a half-in, half-out arrangement [with the royal family], especially as his military links meant so much to him.”
Meanwhile, royal expert and photographer Helena Chard weighed in, asserting that there’s no way back into the royal fold for Harry after his tell-all memoir aired out family grievances. “A self-assured, self-titled, angry Prince Harry thought it was completely OK to publicly verbally annihilate his family,” Chard said. “It is said he was naïve and didn’t realize it would upset his family. He didn’t realize that his actions would cause such a fallout with his family and the public.”
The Sussexes have reportedly been left to “lick their wounds” after a scathing Vanity Fair exposé published earlier this month. The Jan. 17 piece paints a grim picture of the couple’s business ventures, highlighting struggles to maintain relevance after stepping down from royal duties in 2020.
For Harry, the royal fold appears to be closed after his public airing of family grievances. “There’s no way back into the royal fold after he chose to air out his family’s grievances in a tell-all memoir,” said a royal expert.
The exposé includes claims from numerous former colleagues and associates who have criticized Meghan Markle’s character. One of the most shocking revelations suggests that the couple is seen as “local villains” by their neighbors. Another claim speculates that Meghan’s team floated the idea of a “post-Harry divorce book” to a publisher.
Markle was also accused of “bully” behavior by several former colleagues, who spoke anonymously. Some of these individuals claimed to have been “undergoing long-term therapy after working with Meghan,” while another described her as a “‘Mean Girls’ teenager.” One person who worked with Markle on media projects said their experience was “really, really, really awful” and “very painful.”
As a result, Markle has reportedly been left “bruised and upset” and “in a bad place” following the claims, according to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield.
The couple has yet to publicly address the allegations made in the exposé.
