LOS ANGELES, Nov, 6, (Agencies): Priscilla Presley has shared her thoughts on why she chose not to remarry after her six-year marriage to Elvis Presley came to an end. At a Q&A event in Las Vegas, the 78-year-old actress seemed to confirm a long-standing rumor that she had made a vow not to remarry as long as Elvis was alive.

"I just don't think that he could handle that," she expressed, referring to the late rock music icon, to whom she was married from 1967 to 1973. Even after Elvis's passing in 1977, Priscilla remained true to her promise over the past four decades. "To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry after him. I never had any desire," she continued, adding, "No one could ever match him."

During the event, Priscilla also shed light on why she and Elvis chose not to expand their family beyond their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, born in 1968. She explained, "Elvis felt he had a very busy schedule, and he did have a bit of guilt that he wasn't around that much when Lisa was younger. With his scheduling and his touring, he just felt he wasn't around enough to give a lot of attention to having another child."

In a separate conversation with British journalist Piers Morgan for TalkTV, Priscilla disclosed the profound impact of Elvis's sudden death at the age of 42, which still affects her to this day. She vividly recalled the moment when Elvis's road manager, Joe Esposito, broke the devastating news to her over the phone.

"I can still hear Joe Esposito's words, ‘Cilla, Elvis is dead,’ and that was like, I just couldn't imagine him ever, especially at his age and all, still so young and wanting to do so much and had so much planned, and not having him, not talking to him, not having him be the father of our child," she shared. "My big fear was Lisa, and how do I tell her," she added. "She was only 9 at the time."

Priscilla also fondly remembered what drew her to Elvis, including his sharp sense of humor. They first crossed paths at a party in West Germany in 1959 when she was just 14 and he was 24.

"He would walk into the room and it was like, 'Whoa,'" she recounted, emphasizing his captivating presence.

She also highlighted Elvis's incredible kindness, recalling an instance when he saw a woman looking at cars in a dealership in Memphis. In a spontaneous and generous act, he surprised the woman by purchasing a brand new blue Cadillac for her.

"That's him, that's what he would do," Priscilla remembered. "Anyone in trouble, he would give them money. Anyone who had a problem, with anything really and they couldn't afford it, even with some of the guys who needed medical care, he would pay for it."
