KUWAIT CITY, Mar 9: The Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Abdul Wahab Al-Maili, has ruled to impose a fine of 300 dinars on the Director of the Central Prison, in his official capacity, for each instance where an accused individual was not brought to court from the Central Prison. According to the prisoner records, the total fines amounted to 2,800 dinars.
The court was preparing to hear the Public Prosecution's arguments in a murder case when it discovered that the accused had not been brought from his prison cell. Upon summoning other defendants, it was further revealed that they too had not been transported from the Central Prison. This repeated failure to produce the accused disrupted the trial proceedings, prompting the court to levy fines against the prison director for each absent defendant, as their absence hindered the progress of the trial sessions.
