KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The Public Prosecution formed an investigation committee to check on the incident of attempting to infiltrate electricity and water billing systems to uncover the truth. The committee includes representatives from the Department of Experts and Kuwait University, and excludes representatives from the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, considering that the ministry is a party to the case. This is within the framework of the efforts made by the Public Prosecution and Electricity in this case.
According to informed sources at the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the case, which began with the arrest of a number of defendants by the Department of Anti-Electronic Crimes for their attempt to hack the ministry’s systems, is still pending with the Public Prosecution. The Ministry of Electricity and Water had previously provided its testimony regarding everything related to the details of this case and how its employees working in the relevant departments of the customer services sector entered readings and issued customer invoices.
