KUWAIT CITY, June 4: The Municipal Council member Nasser Al-Jadaan recently presented a proposal to establish a prayer hall next to the gas stations designated on the highways, and equip it for men and women, in addition to restrooms. He said the decisions related to gas stations on the highways will later take into account the allocation of space to establish a prayer hall. In the preamble to his proposal, Al-Jadaan indicated the reason that prompted him to submit the proposal, which was the comments from a number of citizens regarding the dire need of Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti highway users and travelers for prayer halls. He said, “When the time for prayer comes, many of them walk tens of kilometers but do not find a single place of prayer. They then resort to holding prayers next to the road. This is what necessitated the proposal to be presented to facilitate them and for their service.”
