Public Prosecution seeks death penalty in Hadiya murder trial

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: The Public Prosecution, led by Deputy Director of the Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabeer Prosecutions, Nasser Khaled Al-Masbahi, presented its case this morning before the Criminal Court in the murder trial of Ahmed Nasser Al-Jalal, a Kuwaiti citizen who was killed in the Hadiya area. The prosecution is seeking the death penalty for the accused.

In his address to the court, Al-Masbahi stated: “Honorable judges, the accused before you has intentionally taken a life that God has forbidden to be taken except in the right circumstances. Through his sinful actions, he has ended the innocent life of a victim without justification, stripping him of his most fundamental right—the right to live. By following his desires and succumbing to his inner demons, he has arrogantly violated the divine right of God Almighty, who alone grants and takes life and claims the souls He has created. The severity of the accused's actions shakes human conscience, instills fear in hearts, and moves even mountains. It is only fair that he faces the harshest punishment—execution—as just retribution to eliminate his evil and serve as a warning and example to others.”

Al-Masbahi also expressed, “We feel the anger boiling in the veins of the victim’s family and relatives. We comprehend the pain and wounds this malignant act has caused to society, which has been afflicted by a corrupt individual who must be removed. Society as a whole condemns this tragedy and seeks your justice, hoping for a punishment that will deter future offenses.”
