KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: Captain Bader Musaed Al-Mutairi, Head of the Operations Department in the Public Security Sector, explained the key responsibilities of the sector, which include maintaining security, receiving reports, and directing them to the appropriate sector, department, or police station. Additionally, the sector is responsible for executing service orders issued by the General Department of Central Operations.

Speaking during an interview on Kuwait Radio yesterday morning, Captain Al-Mutairi emphasized that any security officer in the Public Security Sector has the authority to issue a traffic ticket to any violator. He highlighted that the sector's patrols are deployed to respond to reports of reckless driving and dangerous behavior in certain areas, where violators are apprehended and referred to the General Traffic Department.

Captain Al-Mutairi also discussed how the sector handles reports related to quarrels or disturbances in private housing, particularly those involving bachelors. He clarified that when such reports are received, security patrols are dispatched to the location, where they apprehend the individuals involved in the dispute and transfer them to the police station. If complaints arise regarding bachelors living in private housing, coordination with the municipality is made to take the appropriate action.

In terms of broader security efforts, Captain Al-Mutairi noted that the Public Security Sector is working closely with the Ministry of Commerce, the Municipality, and the General Authority for Public Force to conduct security campaigns targeting violators of residency and labor laws, as well as individuals with outstanding warrants. These efforts are part of a comprehensive security plan being implemented across all governorates.

Additionally, Captain Al-Mutairi mentioned the establishment of checkpoints at the entrances and exits of various areas as part of the Public Security Sector's security plan. During these operations, patrols utilize "fingerprint" devices, which are used to verify identities and assist in identifying and apprehending wanted individuals and lawbreakers.
