KUWAIT CITY, Sept 12: Al-Nasr Club has signed Algerian defender Ahmed Qataf to a contract that will run through the end of the current season, following the departure of Iraqi player Karrar Amer. Karrar Amer announced his departure from Al-Nasr earlier last week due to circumstances beyond the club's control. Amer, who entered Kuwait on a visit visa, faced issues renewing his visa after returning to Iraq during the league's suspension, leading the club to seek a replacement.

The 25-year-old Qataf previously played for Gazélec Olympique Ajaccio and Saint-Priest in France before joining ES Setif in January. He now joins Al-Nasr's roster alongside other international players: Bernardo Villar (Brazil), Zakaria El Wardi (Morocco), Carlos Ventura (Dominican Republic), and Onanuga Babatunde (Nigeria).

Qataf began training with Al-Nasr two days ago and is available to participate in their upcoming match against league leaders Kuwait in the fourth round of the Zain Premier League on Saturday.

Al-Nasr coach Dhaher Al-Adwani is keen to strengthen his squad amid ongoing administrative challenges. The club's issues have prevented them from holding an external training camp before the season and led to the cancellation of a planned camp at the end of August. Currently, Al-Nasr has secured only one victory in the Zain Premier League, alongside two defeats.
