KUWAIT CITY, March 5: Under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the 28th session of the Qurain Cultural Festival commenced on Sunday evening at the "Abdul Hussein Abdul Reda" theater.
The opening ceremony, attended by notable figures including Acting Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature Dr. Muhammad Khaled Al-Jassar and Festival Director Muhammad bin Reda, paid tribute to the lyrical poet Ahmed Al-Sharqawi.
A range of musical works penned by El Sharkawy were performed by singers such as Abdul Rab Idris, Fatuma, Khaled bin Hussein, Fahd Al-Salem, and Dalal Al-Dulaimi, accompanied by Maestro Dr. Muhammad Al-Baijan and his orchestra. The ceremony also saw the honoring of Dr. Abdel Rab Idris, participating artists, maestro Dr. Muhammad Al-Baijan, and transportation director Dr. Ali Hassan.
