KUWAIT CITY, Jan 2: The Observatory of the Meteorological Department said the rainfall in Kuwait last November exceeded twice that of the year 1997, reports Al-Jarida daily. The daily added, November 2018 recorded 261 mm, while in 1997 it was about 114 mm.

The spokesman for the department told the daily the quantity of water last year increased by 60 percent over normal rates and stressed on the cooperation provided by the state agencies which witnessed heavy losses for the country. The official explained the Meteorology Department has about 27 automatic stations distributed across all areas of Kuwait, 14 land stations, 10 agricultural stations, and 3 marine, revealing that some of these stations are awaiting renewal of maintenance contracts
