Dubai Police apprehended a reckless driver caught performing dangerous stunts in the rain near Al Marmoom desert, the authorities confirmed on Friday. The black pickup truck was filmed drifting and kicking up dust before speeding off, despite repeated warnings urging drivers to exercise caution during adverse weather conditions.

Patrol teams immediately tracked down the driver, impounded the vehicle, and issued penalties in line with Decree No. 30 of 2023. The violator must pay a Dh50,000 impound fee and clear any outstanding fines to retrieve the vehicle.

Maj-Gen Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, acting assistant commander-in-chief for operations affairs at Dubai Police, emphasized the significant risks posed by such reckless actions, including endangering public safety and disrupting traffic.

The Dubai Police reiterated their zero-tolerance approach to reckless driving, with strict penalties such as vehicle confiscation, legal actions, and potential prosecution for violators. Maj-Gen Al Mazrouei urged motorists to follow traffic laws, prioritize road safety, and avoid actions that could endanger lives.
