Car reduced to ashes on Maghreb Highway

KUWAIT CITY, July 6: Wednesday afternoon, firefighters put out a fire that broke out in a car on the Maghreb Highway opposite Bayan area, which caused traffic disruption, reports Al-Anba daily. Firefighters from Al-Bairaq and Al-Qurain brought the fire under control and helped the General Traffic Department to restore normal traffic flow after removing the car debris from the middle of the road. Meanwhile, a collision between a car and a lorry on the Sixth Ring Road caused traffic disruption Tuesday afternoon opposite the Farwaniya Hospital, reports Al-Anba daily.

Police patrols and ambulances rushed to the spot and helped remove the damaged saloon car and the overturned half lorry from the middle of the road and restore traffic flow. In the meantime, the Directorate-General of Traffic organized several traffic campaigns in Capital, Farwaniya and Al-Ahmadi governorates during which 262 traffic violations were issued, reports Al-Anba daily.

The violators included those who had installed special car exhausts in their vehicles that emit loud noises, shading of windows above the permissible percentage and parking trucks on the sidewalk inside residential areas. On the other hand, a reckless motorist was put behind bars for 3 months with hard labor after he was caught for reckless driving and endangered the lives of others.
