KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17: Driver of a pick-up with the inscription ‘Astrologer’ boldly written on the side was arrested by Ahmadi security operatives for reckless driving and endangering life, says Al- Seyasaah. The officers were on a round of the area based on a directive from Ahmadi Security Chief Brigadier Abdullah Safah when they spotted the suspect (a Kuwaiti) driving in a reckless manner. The man tried to escape when officers ordered him to stop for questioning but they chased and arrested him. Meanwhile, three other motorists were arrested by Ahmadi officers for reckless driving. The officers impounded the suspects’ vehicles to the garages of the ministry.

Traffic crackdown: Ahmadi Security Directorate launched a number of inspection campaigns in some areas within Ahmadi Governorate during which securitymen arrested 14 individuals, issued 52 traffic citations, and seized 9 vehicles, 16 motorbikes and six buggies. According to a press release issued by Ministry of Interior, the campaigns were carried out in Wafra, Khairan, Mahboula, Sabahiya and Abu Halifa areas based on instructions from Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa Al-Mulla. The individuals who were arrested during the campaigns had either violated the residency law or were involved in finance or criminal cases. They have been referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Drug peddlers caught: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested two Egyptians for attempting to smuggle hashish and Tramadol pills into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the contraband was found hidden inside frozen ducklings. During interrogation the Egyptians have admitted to the charge and said the drugs were for their personal use. The drugs and the Egyptians have been handed over to the General Department for Drugs Control
