Proposal to use wedding halls to receive condolences
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: Member of the Municipal Council, Dr Hassan Kamal has asked the Ministry of Social Affairs to reconsider the decision to close down ‘condolence diwaniyas’, as was previously the case, across all governorates, saying that he had prepared another proposal to establish a complex or building in every governorate for the same purpose, reports Al-Rai daily.
Kamal told the daily such practices greatly helps in eliminating the violations that may occur in the private housing areas since some people prefer to put up tents in open areas since some do not have places to receive condolences due to the small size of their homes and cannot accommodate many people all at the same time.
The proposal includes the use of wedding halls to receive condolences and is considered as one of the distinctive charity services since many halls have been established in various areas for the purpose of social service and the cost is symbolic and is under direct supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs
