KUWAIT CITY, Sep 8: The inspection teams from the Department of Control, Inspection, and Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry conducted a campaign targeting restaurants in the Mubarakiya Markets. Several restaurants found to be in violation of regulations were subsequently referred to the Commercial Prosecution.
Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry, stated that "the inspection campaign focused on the capital area, particularly in Mubarakiya, one of Kuwait's most important heritage markets." He noted that multiple violations were identified, including selling underweight products, using state-subsidized flour, and fraudulent practices concerning the quality of meat served to customers. The violators have been referred to the Commercial Prosecution.
Hamad Al-Mutairi, head of the joint committee team in the Department of Commercial Control and Consumer Protection, added that the team identified several instances of commercial fraud. These efforts are aimed at safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring that anyone who disregards the regulations and laws is held accountable.
