KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: The "EQUICIETY" Dressage Championship will begin tomorrow at the Kuwait Equestrian Center, featuring intense competition at the beginner, basic, and training levels. The event is set to showcase fierce rivalry among both male and female riders vying for top results.

The championship sponsor, rider Fajr Al Sabah, highlighted the growing popularity of dressage in Kuwait, noting the organization of numerous local championships with broad participation. She explained that dressage, the art of horse taming, forms the foundation of equestrian sports. It focuses on teaching both the horse and rider balance, flexibility, and the ability to transition smoothly between different speeds with minimal effort and complete obedience from the horse. The ultimate goal for every rider is to communicate commands seamlessly and at precise moments, without confusing the horse.

Rider Ibrahim Ismail shared his deep passion for equestrianism, which began with horse riding sessions at a farm with friends. His interest grew as he watched world champions and followed international dressage competitions. When the dressage sport field was introduced in Kuwait, he was among the first to join and has participated in local championships over the past two seasons.
