Road maintenance projects: Ministers of Public Works and Municipality focus on enhancing cooperation
The Minister of Public Works, the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, and the Minister of State for Housing Affairs chair a coordination meeting to discuss ways of joint cooperation between the two ministries.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Mishari held a coordination meeting to discuss joint cooperation between their ministries and the support that Kuwait Municipality will provide for implementing 18 major road maintenance projects across various regions of the country.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works on Wednesday after the meeting, which was attended by both ministers, assistant undersecretaries, department directors, and representatives from both ministries, Minister Al-Mashaan emphasized the importance of collaboration with Kuwait Municipality on road projects. This cooperation comes as contracts for asphalt treatments valued at nearly KD 400 million (around USD 1.3 billion) are about to commence.

Minister Al-Mashaan urged Kuwait Municipality to streamline procedures for the companies awarded these maintenance contracts, noting that expediting licenses and transactions in the shortest possible time will enable these companies to carry out the necessary maintenance work effectively.

She commended Kuwait Municipality’s role in enhancing service quality through effective communication, coordination, and follow-up with relevant government agencies, fostering a spirit of cooperation and joint work between the ministries.

Minister Al-Mishari, according to the statement, highlighted that the meeting discussed proposals to facilitate services and support the Ministry of Public Works’ and the Municipality’s projects across various sectors, all in the public interest. He expressed sincere appreciation for the efforts and initiatives aimed at advancing infrastructure and general maintenance projects in the six governorates of the country. (KUNA)
