Robbers Flee with 10,000 KD After Armed Heist at Mahboula Exchange

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 21: Ahmadi detectives are on the hunt for two unidentified suspects who carried out an armed robbery at a money exchange shop in Mahboula, Kuwait. The perpetrators managed to steal approximately 10,000 Kuwaiti dinars in various currencies before fleeing the scene.
The incident was reported to the Ministry of Interior, prompting an immediate response from local authorities. Upon arrival, security personnel interviewed an 35 yr old expatriate employee, who witnessed the robbery.
According to the witness, two unidentified individuals entered the shop and brandished a firearm, threatening the employees before making off with the contents of the shop's safe. Surveillance footage revealed that the suspects used a white, Japanese-made sedan vehicle for escape.
Further investigation into the vehicle used in the crime uncovered that the perpetrators had attached license plates that did not match the original vehicle registration. This tactic appears to have been employed to complicate the identification and tracking of the vehicle.

The Ahmadi detectives are actively pursuing leads and analyzing evidence to apprehend the suspects. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
This robbery follows a recent trend of similar incidents in the area, including a thwarted robbery attempt at another Mahboula money exchange earlier this year. Local law enforcement agencies are working to enhance security measures around financial institutions to prevent future occurrences.
