RIYADH, Jan 27: Despite his legendary football career, Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al-Nassr Saudi Club, continues to amaze with his relentless goal-scoring, record-breaking, and achievements.
Approaching his 40th birthday, Ronaldo played a crucial role in securing three points for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League by defeating Al-Fateh 3-1 in the 17th round of the competition.
Ronaldo made his mark in the 87th minute, converting a precise pass from Sadio Mané into what seemed like a guaranteed goal, briefly raising his tally to 15 goals at the top of the league's scoring chart. However, his joy turned to frustration when the referee ruled the goal offside after consulting VAR.
The decision left Ronaldo visibly upset, with his frustration captured by photographers as he gestured angrily on the pitch. Following the final whistle, Ronaldo expressed his discontent directly to the TV broadcaster’s camera, waving his hands in frustration, clearly feeling a sense of injustice.
Before heading to the locker room, Ronaldo had a brief exchange with his friend, renowned British journalist Piers Morgan, who humorously remarked, "You were robbed—it was a beautiful goal."
Elsewhere in the league, Al-Khaleej edged past Al-Akhdoud with a 2-1 victory, Al-Ahli dominated Al-Riyadh 5-0, and Al-Taawoun and Al-Arabi played out a goalless draw.
