KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: Kazma has appointed Bosnian coach Rosemir Sveko to lead the team, replacing Tunisian coach Lassad Al-Shabi.

Rosemir, 53, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He previously guided Al-Arabi to victory in the Crown Prince Cup during the 2022-2023 season and secured a league runner-up finish with the same team. His career also includes coaching stints with Dalian Mizu Haka in China, serving as an assistant coach for the Bosnian national team, and leading Al-Arabi Saudi Arabia to qualification for the Roshen Professional League. Most recently, he began the season with Raja Casablanca, though the tenure ended on a sour note due to unresolved financial disputes.

Rosemir filed a case with FIFA's Dispute Resolution Committee against Raja Club Athletic after the Moroccan club failed to fulfill its contractual obligations, including outstanding financial dues. This disagreement led to a mutual termination of his contract. The coach expressed frustration, stating that the club’s actions damaged his reputation, particularly since the termination was without cause and the club failed to provide proper working conditions. Rosemir noted his previous successes, having been recognized as the best coach in countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bosnia.

At Kazma, Rosemir becomes the team’s third coach this season, following Mohammed Dahilis and Al-Shabi.

Al-Shabi announced his departure after a 1-1 draw with Al-Nasr in the 12th round of the Zain Premier League. The draw left Kazma with 11 points in seventh place, continuing their streak of dropped points and placing them at risk of competing in the relegation group in the second round.

Reflecting on his tenure, Al-Shabi stated, “The match against Al-Nasr is my last with Kazma. I was honored to work in Kuwait and with this team.” He added that while the team had an impressive first half, their performance declined in the second half, leading to the draw.
