KUWAIT CITY, Jan 6: The Criminal Circuit of the Court of Cassation upheld the Court of Appeal’s verdict, which sentenced a ruling family member, identified only as S. Al-Sabah, to death for the premeditated murder of citizen Abdulaziz Al-Zaatari. The crime occurred in April 2022 when the defendant went to the victim’s home in Mubarak Al-Kabeer and shot him 14 times, which led to his immediate death. In response to the ruling, the heirs’ legal counsel Lawyer Bashar Al-Nassar, praised the court’s impartiality, stressing that the judgment made no distinction between a member of the ruling family and an ordinary citizen. He expressed pride in Kuwait’s judicial system under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
