Kuwait court
KUWAIT CITY, March 12: The Court of Cassation upheld the verdict issued by a lower court to refrain from punishing a Kuwaiti citizen in his 30s working in the Ministry of Islamic Affairs who was accused of collaborating with members of the ISIS organization to target Shiites and American forces in Saudi Arabia. He was also accused of encouraging his wife and others to pledge allegiance to the organization’s leaders.
The Criminal Court had previously sentenced the accused to five-year imprisonment after he was convicted of communicating with the terrorist organization and planning attacks in Saudi Arabia. The Public Prosecution charged him with publishing information about the terrorist organization online, promoting extremist ideologies, and disseminating content related to the manufacturing of explosives. The indictment also included charges of joining a banned group that aims to undermine the country’s regime through illegal means.
