'Sahel' app sees over 4M transactions in October: Official

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: Yousef Kazem, the official spokesperson for Kuwait’s unified government e-services application, 'Sahel', announced that over 4,378,000 transactions and services were completed through the app in October.

Kazem told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Friday that the 'Sahel' app has seen significant advancements in processing government transactions, driven by an increasing number of services available—particularly following the launch of the English version in early October. He added that 12 new e-services were introduced last month, while approximately 78,000 new users downloaded the app across various smart devices, with about 93 percent of these new users being residents.

Among the most popular services in October were issuing criminal record certificates from the Ministry of Interior, registered certificates from the Public Institution for Social Security, and nationality certificates from the Ministry of Interior.

Kazem emphasized the 'Sahel' team’s commitment to continuously improving and expanding the app’s services to provide a seamless experience for users in Kuwait, supporting the nation’s vision for digital transformation and enhancing access to government services for citizens and residents alike.
