KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyar Saidov has confirmed the solid bilateral relations between Kuwait and his country, highlighting the remarkable development of such relations over the past few years. Saidov made the statement at the Kuwaiti-Uzbek Investment and Trade Forum held at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Wednesday; with the attendance of 60 businesspersons and 15 officials representing the Uzbek ministries of Industry, Trade, Finance, and Health, in addition to members of the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He affirmed his country has a lot of great investment opportunities in all fields; indicating his accompanying delegation represents companies in various industries like food, agriculture, light, medical supplies, sweets, poultry, and farming. He is hoping that Kuwaiti investors will know the opportunities available to them in Uzbekistan, including the opportunities in the fields of infrastructure and energy.

Meanwhile, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation Assistant Director General of KCCI Firas Al-Awda pointed out that the visit of the Uzbek delegation after the Kuwaiti-Uzbek Investment and Trade Forum in May reflects Uzbekistan’s commitment to deepen relations with Kuwaiti companies and investors. He said the potential between the two countries has been growing steadily over the past 20 years, thanks to their shared visions and commitments.

He also confirmed Kuwait’s efforts to deepen relations between the business communities in the two countries, uncover opportunities, and strive to realize similar economic ambitions. He added that Uzbekistan’s development strategy for the years 2022 to 2026 aims to create a diversified and market-driven economy; while the parallel ambitions create unique opportunities for cooperation, with strong potential in different sectors such as renewable energy, food security, and education. He also stated that the expertise of Kuwaiti investors in banking, telecommunications, primary care, and petrochemicals combined with Uzbekistan’s abundant resources provide a promising landscape for shared prosperity in the future. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in building resilient and diversified economies.
