This victory marked Al-Salmiya's acquisition of their initial three points in the Kuwaiti Football Premier League, specifically in the Zain Season of 2023-2024.

The game, held at Jaber Stadium, showcased both teams' tactical prowess and the impressive coaching strategies of Daher Al-Adwani for Al-Nasr and Muhammad Al-Mashaan for Al-Salmiya.

Al-Nasr took the lead as Zapata netted the first goal in the 32nd minute. However, Al-Salmiya quickly countered, with Seba leveling the score in the 56th minute. Athbi Shehab of Al-Salmiya then seized an opportunity from outside the penalty area, securing their second goal in the 70th minute.
