ABU DHABI, Feb 11, (KUNA): Kuwaiti female athletes from Salwa Al-Sabah and Al-Fatat clubs achieved remarkable success on Saturday, clinching four medals in athletics and Karate at the ongoing Arab Women Clubs Games in the Emirate of Sharjah. The prestigious event, featuring participants from various Arab countries, witnessed outstanding performances from Kuwaiti athletes.
Al-Fatat Club secured a silver medal in the Team Kumite category, thanks to the impressive contributions of Dalal Al-Saeed, Asrar Al-Jassim, Salama Al-Sultan, and Loujain Al-Sultan. Meanwhile, Salwa Al-Sabah Club showcased their prowess in athletics, securing three medals – one silver and two bronze. Dana Al-Azmi, Maryam Al-Farhan, and Haya Al-Rifai excelled in shot put, triple jump, and the 5,000-meter race, respectively.
The 2024 Arab Club Games for Women, now in its seventh edition, commenced on February 2 in Sharjah. Over 550 players from 63 teams representing 15 Arab countries are participating in the competition. Organized by the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, the prestigious event is set to continue until the 12th of this month.
