RIYADH, Aug 1: In light of Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup, King Salman bin Abdulaziz emphasized the Kingdom's success in establishing itself as a premier global sporting destination, driven by the determination and ambition of its people.

King Salman stated, "We are confident that the capabilities and resources that the Kingdom will offer, along with the efforts and cooperation of the international community, will help us achieve our shared goals and create a bright and dazzling future for football. Additionally, we aim to create a positive legacy that extends beyond 2034."

He further highlighted Saudi Arabia's belief in the importance of sports, its positive impact on individuals, and its vital role in strengthening ties between peoples, fostering communication between different cultures, and building bridges between societies worldwide.

King Salman noted that under Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes investment in the sports sector, the Kingdom is proud to submit its bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup™. Saudi Arabia will work collaboratively with the international community to host this significant sporting event, aimed at advancing football globally.

He reiterated Saudi Arabia's status as a leading global sporting destination, saying, "We are confident that the Kingdom's prepared capabilities and potential, alongside the efforts and cooperation of the international community, will achieve our common goals and create a bright and dazzling future for football, in addition to creating a positive legacy that extends beyond 2034."

Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup includes plans for the tournament to take place in five cities—Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Abha, and Neom—with 48 teams competing across 15 stadiums. Notably, King Salman Stadium in Riyadh is slated to host the opening and final matches of the World Cup. The Saudi Press Agency detailed that the World Cup will be held in these five cities, showcasing the Kingdom's readiness and enthusiasm for hosting the event.
