Saudi Arabia issues warning to Hajj service providers
Hajj service providers must meet high standards or face fines.

DUBAI, UAE, March 11: Saudi Arabia has reiterated its firm stance on holding Hajj service providers accountable, issuing a stern warning that any failure to meet the highest standards for pilgrims will result in severe consequences.

Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, stressed that both domestic and international service providers found guilty of negligence or failing to meet their obligations will face strict penalties. Speaking at a meeting in Mecca with leaders of Hajj service companies, he underscored the government's dedication to ensuring a smooth and seamless pilgrimage experience for all pilgrims.

Al Rabiah made it clear that violations of regulations or failure to deliver required services could lead to hefty fines or even the permanent revocation of licenses. "There will be no tolerance for shortcomings that compromise the well-being of pilgrims," he emphasized.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Hajj season and commended the efforts of the Supreme Hajj Committee, headed by Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, for ensuring an organized and efficient pilgrimage. He also acknowledged the dedication of service providers who are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for the pilgrims.

Al Rabiah urged all service providers to maintain strict oversight of their operations, with a focus on prioritizing the comfort and care of pilgrims. He highlighted key areas requiring excellence, such as transportation, accommodation, catering, guidance, and logistical support — from the pilgrims' arrival in the Kingdom to their departure after completing their spiritual journey.

The Minister also emphasized that exceptional service providers would be recognized and rewarded, but issued a strong warning that substandard services would not be tolerated. He stressed the importance of adhering to schedules to ensure smooth movement of pilgrims between holy sites and the timely performance of religious rituals.

Moreover, Al Rabiah highlighted the importance of educating and training pilgrims before and during their journey, urging service providers to promote the Nusuk card, which ensures seamless access to services in coordination with the ministry and Hajj offices.

He also called on companies to support the “No Hajj Without a Permit” campaign to prevent unauthorized pilgrims from entering the holy sites. Ministry teams will conduct self-evaluations and on-site inspections starting from Shawwal 10 to monitor compliance and address any shortcomings in services provided to the pilgrims.
