SAUDI ARABIS, Nov 16: Saudi Arabia has introduced a new digital platform for music education, reflecting the country’s growing focus on the entertainment sector and its ambitious transformation initiatives.
The Saudi Music Commission unveiled MusiqAI, described as the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia and globally. This innovative platform offers interactive music programs designed to teach both Arabic and Western instruments through various learning methods.
According to the commission, MusiqAI will provide music education via video streaming courses, catering to both aspiring enthusiasts and professionals with the latest technologies. It offers a wide range of courses suitable for all skill levels, aiming to create a diverse and dynamic learning environment that fosters students' musical development and supports their professional careers.
The platform’s goals also include educating both local and international students about different musical instruments, best practices in music production, and industry standards. It is designed to expand rapidly to meet growing demand across Saudi Arabia and internationally, with plans to offer advanced academic courses as needed.
This initiative follows Saudi Arabia’s recent announcement in late 2022 to introduce music education in schools starting from kindergarten.
The Saudi Music Commission, established in February 2020 as part of the Ministry of Culture, aims to nurture musical talent, provide equal access to music education, and contribute to the local economy. This move is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader effort to enhance its entertainment industry, which has seen a surge in concerts, cinemas, theatrical performances, and competitions attracting large audiences both locally and globally.
