RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Oct 24, (Agencies): In line with its ambitious Vision 2030 initiative, Saudi Arabia has unveiled plans to attract over 30 million Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and more than 100 million tourists each year.
Saleh Al Jasser, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, made this announcement during a discussion session at the Saudi-European Investment Forum. Al Jasser emphasized the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing its tourism and pilgrimage sectors, with an investment of SR1.6 trillion over the next decade. These investments will be realized through partnerships with the private sector and various international collaborators.
Al Jasser underlined Saudi Arabia's aim to enhance the quality of life, provide streamlined services, and move away from outdated models. He stated, "Saudi Arabia has set ambitious goals, and we are well-equipped with advanced capabilities and a competitive national workforce."
Additionally, he mentioned the establishment of two vital aviation centers to cater to the needs of citizens and highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts to connect with 250 global tourist destinations.
The Saudi-European Investment Forum, hosted in Riyadh, showcased the growing relationship between Saudi Arabia and the European Union. The event served as a platform for exploring collaborative investment opportunities in various sectors, particularly in transportation and logistics.
The forum's objectives included promoting mutual investments, strengthening economic ties, facilitating knowledge exchange, and deepening economic integration between the two regions.
