The victorious Saudi team celebrates on the podium.

TAIF, July 6: The Saudi national team clinched the "West Asia Youth" Championship by defeating the UAE 1-0 at the King Fahd Sports City Stadium in Taif. The Greens secured their spot in the final after a 2-0 victory over Syria, while the Whites advanced by defeating Jordan 2-1. Talal Haji scored the decisive goal for Saudi Arabia in the 43rd minute.

This tournament saw a record participation of 12 teams, divided into three groups. The first round was conducted in a single-stage league system, with the top team from each group and the best runner-up advancing to the semi-finals, and the winners of those matches moving on to the final.

Notably, the Albanian national team participated by special invitation from the West Asian Football Federation. This marks the first step in a cooperation agreement expected between the West Asian Football Federation and the European Union for football development.
