RIYADH, Nov 1: The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced that it had carried out a military operation on Sunday to neutralize vital resources allegedly being used by Yemen's Houthi militia to support its military operations.
Coalition Forces spokesman Major General Turki Al-Maliki said the Houthi militia continued to launch deliberate and systematic attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure in Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
He accused the group of exploiting vital resources to strengthen its military capabilities, particularly its ballistic missile and drone capabilities, and to sustain its military campaign.
Al-Maliki said the operation was conducted in response to continued attacks and what he described as direct threats to civilian lives and infrastructure.
He added that the operation targeted resources used by the Houthis to support repeated attacks, threaten the security of Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and endanger maritime navigation routes in the southern Red Sea.
The coalition spokesman stressed that the Joint Forces Command would continue taking necessary operational measures to deter the Houthi militia and prevent it from exploiting vital resources for military purposes.
He called on the group to stop hostile operations against civilians and civilian infrastructure, warning that it would bear the consequences of its continued actions.
The statement did not specify the locations or the nature of the resources targeted in the operation
