Saudi man sentenced to 7 years for forging Kuwaiti citizenship and fraudulent salaries

KUWAIT CTY, Oct 14: The Court of Cassation, presided over by Counselor Sultan Bursali, has sentenced a Saudi man to seven years in prison with hard labor for forging Kuwaiti citizenship.

He was found guilty of falsely presenting himself as a Kuwaiti citizen and working in the Ministry of Defense with the rank of corporal from 1993 to 2020, during which he unlawfully obtained 253,000 dinars in salaries and 16,000 dinars in bank loans.

The court also imposed a fine of 800,000 dinars. Previously, the first instance court had sentenced both the accused and the forger's father—who was tried in absentia—to seven years in prison with hard labor.
