Saudi ministry announces Hajj security measures and entry regulations
Saudi Ministry issues Hajj guidelines to ensure the safety of pilgrims.

JEDDAH, April 13: The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday a series of arrangements and security measures to safeguard the wellbeing of pilgrims and ensure they are able to perform Hajj in peace and safety, as part of preparations for the 1446 AH Hajj season.

According to a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Ministry of Interior specified that the final date for pilgrims to enter the Kingdom will be Sunday, Shawwal 15 (April 13), while the last date for pilgrims to leave the Kingdom will be Tuesday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 1 (April 29).

The Ministry also stated that beginning Wednesday, Shawwal 25 (April 23), residents wishing to enter the Holy City of Makkah must obtain permits from the relevant authorities. Those who attempt to enter without the proper authorization will be denied entry and sent back.

Permits to enter Makkah are granted to:

Residents with an official entry permit to work in the holy sites, issued by the competent authority;

Individuals holding a resident ID issued by the Holy Capital;

Those possessing an official Hajj permit.

Entry permits for residents working during the Hajj season can be obtained electronically through the Absher Individuals platform and the Muqeem portal.

Among the new measures is the temporary suspension of Umrah permit issuance via the Nusuk platform. This applies to Saudi citizens, residents of the Kingdom, residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and holders of other visa types. The suspension will take effect from Tuesday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 1 (April 29) and continue until Monday, Dhu al-Hijjah 14 (June 10).

The Ministry further clarified that holders of all visa types—except for Hajj visas—will not be permitted to enter or remain in Makkah starting Tuesday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 1 (April 29).

The Ministry of Interior called on all individuals to comply with the regulations governing this year's Hajj season and to cooperate with the relevant authorities to ensure the security and safety of the "Guests of God." The Ministry warned that violations of these rules will result in legal penalties.
