KUWAIT CITY, Jan 14: The Criminal Security Sector, through the Cybersecurity Investigations Department, has launched a search for an unidentified individual accused of defrauding Kuwaiti citizens by posing as a representative of a domestic labor agency.
According to a security source, the scam involves sending messages to citizens claiming to offer domestic workers of any nationality a monthly salary of 85 dinars. Victims are asked to complete a registration form and pay 2 dinars upfront via a link, with the remaining 83 dinars to be paid upon completion of the service. The fraudster uses this tactic to steal victims' bank account details.
The Cybersecurity department has urged the public to avoid engaging with unverified accounts or offers, warning that such schemes are often fraudulent. The investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect.
