Scattered Rainfall and Thunderstorms Expected Across Kuwait This Week

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 3: The Meteorology Department has forecasted scattered rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder, across various regions of Kuwait from Tuesday afternoon through Saturday morning. In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday, the department’s director, Dharar Al-Ali, explained that the country will be influenced by a weak high-pressure system, which will facilitate the movement of a humid surface low-pressure system. This will coincide with an upper-level low-pressure system, resulting in the formation of low and medium clouds and some cumulonimbus clouds, bringing scattered and potentially thundery showers to certain areas.

Al-Ali added that the rainfall will be accompanied by strong southeasterly winds, with speeds exceeding 50 kilometers per hour. These winds are expected to reduce horizontal visibility, particularly in exposed areas, and cause sea waves to rise above 6 feet.

Weather conditions are predicted to gradually improve starting Saturday afternoon. Al-Ali urged citizens and residents to stay updated on the latest weather developments by checking the department’s official website and smartphone application. He also advised the public to monitor any weather warnings that may be issued during this period.

Residents are encouraged to exercise caution, especially in areas prone to reduced visibility and rough sea conditions, as the unsettled weather persists throughout the week.
