KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, issued a decision excluding scholarship and academically licensed members of the Ministry from transportation while restricting the transfer of officers from the rank of lieutenant to major to field work only.

Resolution No. 1194 of 2023 included amending some provisions of Resolution No. 20-2021 related to regulating the transfer of members of the police force, as it added a final paragraph to Article 3 that states, “Those who are on scholarship and those who are academically licensed are excluded from all of the above.”

The decision, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Seyassah, stated: “Article No. 4 of the aforementioned Ministerial Resolution No. 30-2021 shall be amended to become, without prejudice to Clause No. 10 of Article 3 of this decision, the transfer of officers from the rank of lieutenant up to the rank of major to Field work only, not administrative work, and “specialized officers, scholarship students, and those with academic license are excluded from this.”

In Article 3 of the decision, a paragraph is added that states: “Scholarship students and those with academic leave are excluded from this.”

In Article Four, a new article is added, number 7 bis: “The provisions of this decision do not prejudice the jurisdiction of the Undersecretary to transfer members of the police force who are on scholarship and study leave without adhering to the dates specified for transfer in this decision.”
