Security campaign nets 146 arrests, issues over 1,800 violations

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The Ministry of Interior announced that it conducted an intensive security campaign across several areas on Thursday as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain security and public order in all six governorates.

According to a press statement from the General Department of Security Relations and Media, the campaign targeted the areas of Khaitan, Farwaniya, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Mutlaa, and Mahboula, resulting in the issuance of 1,822 violations. The operation was carried out with the cooperation of the General Traffic Department, the General Department of Rescue Police, the Public Security Sector, the General Department of Special Security Forces, and Women Police.

The campaign led to 1,676 traffic violations and the apprehension of 146 individuals. Among them were three arrested for drug-related charges, 21 with expired residency permits, 32 without identification, 16 absentees, 39 wanted individuals with arrest warrants, five in an abnormal state, one for criminal execution, seven juveniles, and one for possession of intoxicating substances. Additionally, five vehicles and motorcycles were impounded, and 12 wanted vehicles were confiscated and referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.

The Ministry emphasized that such campaigns are part of the continuous efforts by field sectors to apprehend law violators and offenders, uphold public discipline, ensure security and order, prevent crime, and address negative behaviors in society. (KUNA)
