KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: In a significant operation against illegal drug activities, the Ministry of Interior has successfully dismantled a factory producing psychotropic substances. The factory, located in a desert area in the northern part of the country, was operated by three individuals who have now been apprehended.

The raid, conducted by the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, yielded approximately 90.5 kilograms of various narcotic substances, including 55 kilograms of Lyrica powder, 35 kilograms of a chemical narcotic substance, and 500 grams of crystal meth. Authorities also confiscated around 600,000 psychotropic pills, 500,000 Lyrica capsules, and 100,000 Captagon tablets. Additionally, the operation uncovered 12 specialized devices used for manufacturing psychotropic substances and a sensitive scale.

The factory was equipped with advanced technology for compressing and producing narcotic and psychotropic substances. The seized items and the three suspects have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.

This operation underscores the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to combating drug trafficking and production, with a focus on disrupting the supply chain of dangerous substances and addressing the threat posed by drug dealers and manufacturers.
