KUWAIT CITY, Sept 15: In a move aimed at tightening control over residency violators, particularly those who abscond from their sponsors to seek employment elsewhere, security sources have confirmed to Al-Seyassah / Arab Times that stringent directives have been issued to officers of the Residence Affairs Investigation Department. Their mission is to apprehend all violators falling under “Article 20 / Domestic Workers” and initiate deportation proceedings against them.
According to these sources, individuals who have fled from their original sponsors, who had made the effort to hire them, often find employment on farms, in brothels, stalls, and in shops without possessing valid residency permits. They might believe they can operate unnoticed by the security services.
However, it is emphasized that crackdowns against these violators are ongoing. The sources highlighted that domestic workers of African and Asian nationalities, despite having violated residency laws and having absconding cases registered against them, continue to engage in employment for others across the entire country. Those who provide shelter to these absconders are warned that legal action will be taken against them.
