KUWAIT CITY, April 15: Based on an official report submitted to the relevant security bodies, security authorities arrested a Kuwaiti citizen who was working as a manager of a cooperative society after he was found to have requested a financial bribe in exchange for performing tasks that fall within his official responsibilities, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Interior explained that a legal permit was obtained, after coordinating with the Public Prosecution, to record meetings and phone calls related to the case. Audio and video records captured the full details, which led to the suspect’s arrest in the act and his referral to the relevant authorities for necessary legal action. The ministry affirmed that this type of crime is a grave offense that undermines public confidence in state institutions. It urged all citizens and residents to report any similar incidents without delay, particularly those involving public employees requesting bribes or gifts in exchange for performing their official duties.
