Senior citizens can now obtain traffic plates via Sahel app

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: The Ministry of Social Affairs announced today, Tuesday, the launch of a service for issuing traffic plates for the elderly through the government application (Sahel) to streamline procedures for them.

The ministry shared on its official account on the social media platform (X) that this service aims to simplify and expedite the process of issuing traffic plates. It also provides the option for direct communication with beneficiaries via the application, allowing them to track the status of their traffic plate requests until they are fully processed.

To qualify for this service, applicants must meet certain conditions, including being a Kuwaiti national aged 65 or older and obtaining approval from the medical committee. Beneficiaries are required to submit a copy of their priority card for the elderly, a copy of their civil ID, and a medical report endorsed by the medical committee.

According to the terms and conditions, holders of these plates are permitted to park in areas designated for the elderly by the state and official agencies. It is prohibited for anyone to use these parking spaces without the appropriate rights, as stipulated in Law No. 18 of 2016.

The ministry emphasized that this service is part of its efforts to simplify government service procedures for the elderly and ensure they receive high-quality services that enhance their daily lives.
