Seven killed, eight injured in US strikes on Iran’s Khuzestan province

TEHRAN, Sep 2: Seven people were killed and eight others injured in US missile strikes on Iran’s southern Khuzestan province last Tuesday, according to Iranian reports.

Khuzestan Deputy Governor Valiollah Hayati told Iran’s official IRNA news agency that the casualties resulted from missile strikes on three locations in the province.

Hayati said the strikes targeted areas around the cities of Ahvaz and Aghajari in Khuzestan.

The US military’s Central Command said it had launched attacks against targets belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Following the US announcement, Iranian media also reported hearing explosions on Qeshm Island and in the cities of Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Chabahar and Konarak.
